There’s something about those two words that draw us in. They’re sweet as honey to our connection craving souls—our innate human desire to be wanted and valued.
Yet how often do we invite others into our schedule, home and life? In a consumer-minded culture of convenience, we have slowly devalued a lifestyle of service, failing to pass down practical and relevant ways to be hospitable. Today’s generation still gathers, but the modern rendition of “hanging out” is not a substitute for the unique host-guest relationship.
I believe we’re missing the beauty of invitation and settling for convenience.

The idea of hospitality is historically rooted in Christianity, when believers in Christ would come together in the act of koinonia; a deeper form of fellowship than an informal social gathering. The early church broke bread together and shared all they possessed with one another. Hospitality was a habit of service in daily life, not limited to extraordinary occasions or holidays.

The Art of Hospitality.co is dedicated to this generation, providing practical and encouraging resources as well as content that will equip you to live a lifestyle of service. The blog will inspire you as you hear and read what even simple forms of hospitality look like in the lives of various women.
You are warmly invited into this conversation and community, where we hope you are inspired to create space where people feel valued.

About Mackenzie
Founder & Designer
Since I was a little girl, I have observed my mom invite people into our home. Friends, family, visitors, or strangers—it doesn’t matter, she welcomes anyone with intentionality and warm affection.

Her example has fostered in me the joy of hosting my own friends and gatherings now as an adult. I find it disheartening that many young women my age have not been blessed with the same generational example and feel intimidated or unmotivated to be hospitable with their spaces and lives.
The Art of Hospitality.co was birthed as a college assignment, but it quickly grew into a passion project. The combination of graphic design, photography, and hospitality lit a spark—a desire to encourage and equip other women to enjoy the beauty of community formed by invitation and a lifestyle of sacrificial service.
